Just realized I should have gone with gravel instead of concrete for my patio path
I had to choose between a concrete walkway and a gravel one for the side yard in my Nashville house. Went with concrete because it looked cleaner, but now after two winters it's cracked in three spots and I'm kicking myself. Anyone else regret picking the 'nicer' option over the practical one?

Nashville clay soil expands, concrete always cracks there.

My concrete path by the garage split right down the middle after one freeze-thaw cycle, same Nashville clay problem.

Hold on a second, is one bad freeze-thaw cycle really the end of the world? My neighbor's Nashville driveway has been cracked for years and it still holds up fine, just looks a little rough. Unless you had a really weak mix of concrete or the ground wasn't tamped down right underneath, I'd think a simple patch kit from the hardware store would be fine for now.
