Warning: I keep seeing people mix up the pinouts on those new Garmin G5 connectors

Honestly, I've seen it three times this month at our hangar in Daytona. Guys are rushing and plugging the 22-pin connector in without checking the keyway against the manual, which is a real bad idea. It looks like it fits, but you can force it one pin off and fry the whole attitude module. I caught an apprentice about to do it yesterday and had to stop him. Has anyone else run into this, or are we just having a weird run of bad luck here?

Oh man, that's the aviation version of "this side up" on a box. (Which, let's be real, nobody reads either.) It's wild that the fix is just looking at a little dot, but the cost of getting it wrong is a fried computer. You'd think the price tag alone would make people slow down for two seconds.

Is it really just a keyway check? The manual shows you need to match the white dot on the connector shell to the pin one notch. That's the part everyone misses. Forcing it ruins the unit for sure.

Ever try to plug a USB in upside down three times?
