Appreciation post: The weirdest thing I saw at the San Diego Zoo

Honestly, I was just there last weekend and I spent like 20 minutes watching the meerkats. One of them was just standing guard, totally still, while another one was digging a hole right next to it. The digging one would stop every few seconds and look at the guard, like it was checking in. It was such a simple little teamwork thing but it really caught my attention. Has anyone else seen animal behavior that made you stop and think?

Tbh watching animals do their thing is way more interesting than I expected. I got stuck watching the otters at my local spot for ages, just sliding around and cracking shells. Makes you realize how much is going on in their little routines.
