That dang dishwasher door latch took me 3 hours yesterday
I spent 90 minutes chasing a short in the wiring before realizing the plastic latch itself was just slightly warped from heat over the years. Anyone else ever get blindsided by the simple stuff that shoulda taken 20 minutes tops?

That's the thing about home repairs, the fix is almost never where you look first, isn't it? Life's way of humbling us, usually when we're already running late (or hungry, in my case).

Not sure life is really trying to humble us every time a pipe drips or a cabinet door comes loose. Sometimes a leak is just a leak. We tend to read all sorts of deep meaning into everyday frustrations when really it's just that houses get old and things wear out. It's annoying for sure, especially when you're hungry and running behind, but I don't think the universe is personally testing me over a broken washing machine.

Oh man, you are so right about that. It's like when something goes wrong it always happens right when you're already stressed about something else, like being late or hungry. That's just how life works, hiding the real problem somewhere you'd never think to look until you've checked every other place first.
