PSA: A customer in Boise told me their fridge was 'just old' after I found a $15 door switch was the real issue.

That mindset of just replacing things is costing people hundreds for no reason. When's the last time you saw a simple fix get ignored for a full unit swap?

Remember my buddy's washing machine that quit spinning? He was ready to buy a new one, said it was just worn out. Turns out it was a single snapped belt, a ten dollar part and twenty minutes of his time. He felt pretty silly for almost dropping eight hundred bucks over it.

Honestly, how many of us would have just called for a new machine without even looking? Tbh I once almost replaced a whole vacuum because it wouldn't turn on, and it was just a clogged filter. Felt like a total genius after that fix. Ngl, we're all way too quick to think something is totally broken when it's just one small thing. Saves so much money to just take a breath and check the simple stuff first.

Seriously, what's the dumbest simple fix you've ever almost missed?

That's the secret life hack right there, just being slightly less lazy than usual. We're all out here almost buying new stuff over a five minute google search.
