Heard a customer say 'it's just a dryer, how complicated can it be?' while I was pulling out a shredded belt.
It made me think about how we never get credit for the years of diagnostics it takes to make a fix look simple. Anyone else have a go-to line for when a client underestimates the job?

Try fixing it themselves" is a classic line I've heard before.

Yeah, that line is a classic. I just tell them the price to fix it is the same as the price to fix it after they try and fail. Usually shuts it down. The look on their face when they realize they're paying for my knowledge, not just my time. Years of seeing the same stupid problems over and over is what they're buying.
