Vent: My apology letter to my brother made things worse
I spent 3 hours writing this long apology to my brother after our fight last month. I poured out every detail, every mistake I made, going back 5 years. He read it and just said, 'You're still making this about you.' That hit hard. Turns out a short, honest 'I'm sorry for yelling at you that night' would have been way better. I learned that letters can feel like you're performing regret instead of just owning one moment. Has anyone else over-explained an apology and had it blow up in your face?
