Broke my dads fishing rod 12 years ago and never told him
Snapped the tip on a cedar tree at Lake Merwin back in 2013. I just put it back in his garage and pretended I never touched it. Anyone else still carrying around something small like that you should have apologized for ages ago?

Lake Merwin is in Washington, right? Pretty sure 2013 was only 11 years ago unless my math is off. Either way you're in the clear, cedar trees have it out for fishing rods.

Wait, are we talking about the same Lake Merwin? The one near Woodland that's all wind and stumps? I swear that lake has a weird time warp thing going on where hours feel like days, especially when you're getting skunked. And cedar trees maybe go after rods, but have you ever had a rainbow trout steal your lure right off the line? That's the real curse, not trees.

Push back on that hard, honestly @morgan.rose stole your whole vibe with that rainbow trout story - that's way worse than a broken rod tip. Ngl, you shoulda just fessed up back then, dad probably woulda laughed it off and bought a new one. Keeping secrets for over a decade is wild energy.
