My rain barrel split a seam during a storm last Tuesday

I was trying to catch runoff for my garden (you know, feel a little less guilty about watering), and instead of saving water I ended up flooding my basement stairs with about 40 gallons. Has anyone else had their eco-friendly setup backfire like this?

Did you check if your downspout diverter was clogged? Mine overflowed on a neighbor once.

Checked it three times actually, even took it apart and everything. Parker_palmer44 I feel your pain on that neighbor situation, mine somehow managed to spray my own front door instead. Guess I'm just lucky like that.
