PSA: I still run a hardwired system in my own house and everyone calls me crazy
The choice was between ripping it all out for a new wireless setup or keeping my old 16-zone hardwired panel. I kept the wired one. That was 5 years ago and I've had zero false alarms from low batteries or signal drops, which I can't say for the wireless units I install for customers. Sure, the install was a pain, pulling wire through finished walls in a 1980s build. But the reliability is just different. Has anyone else stuck with hardwired for their personal property, or am I the last one?

Holy crap, you pulled wire through finished 80s walls? That's a nightmare job, lol. But you're right, that wired reliability is unbeatable. Makes total sense to keep it.

Actually the walls were from the 90s, but yeah it was still a pain.

Pulling wire through any finished wall is a pain, but the result is worth it. Wireless just can't match that solid connection for things that really matter. I'd take the headache of fishing cable any day over dealing with random dropouts.
