inWent to a massive corporate job fair yesterday and nobody asked about skills
Honestly, it's like these companies read a handbook on how to make people feel worthless during a job search. I came across a study a few weeks back that said most recruiters spend under ten seconds looking at a resume before they decide if someone is worth talking to. So it makes total sense that these events are just about collecting data rather than actually interviewing anyone. Tbh, the whole QR code scanning thing just feels like a way to pump up their applicant numbers for investors or something. Ngl, it's a bummer because you show up ready to talk about your skills and all you get is a branded pen and a pat on the back. At this point, I'd rather just apply online and skip the whole dog and pony show.

inCaught myself trying to fix a shutter with a q-tip again
Yeah, I've been down that exact road and it's a pain. Cotton fibers are a nightmare to get out once they're in there, especially if you've already got them wedged between the blades. I've had good luck with a can of compressed air and a fine-pointed pair of tweezers, but I also keep a little piece of lens cleaning tissue folded over and damp with lighter fluid, just to catch any stubborn spots. Just gotta be really careful not to push the blades with the tweezers, you can bend them easy. After a few tries you sorta get a feel for what actually works and what's just wasting your time.

inShoutout to the diver in Galveston who told me to skip the extra weight belt
Ruby, you said "people make a huge deal out of trim sometimes." I hear you, but I think you might be underestimating how much a bad trim can wear you down over a long dive. It's not just about air consumption. It's about how your lower back feels after an hour of fighting to stay level, or how much more energy you have at the end of a working dive. Simple adjustments like moving weight around really do save you from fighting yourself the whole time.

inThe 15 dollar thrift store chair vs a 300 dollar ergonomic one
Is it really that serious though, @kimmurphy? I get what you're saying about breaking in a chair, but come on, it's just foam and fabric. You can get the same feel from a new chair if you spend a little time sitting in it. People act like their old couch is a fine wine or something. It's probably full of dust mites and dead skin cells anyway, so maybe it's time for an upgrade.

inWalked into a barbershop in Austin and saw zero clipper guards on the shelf
Read somewhere that Japanese barbers do the same thing. It's an art form.
