Why I quit clearing every dead branch from trees

Wait, you actually got termites in your foundation from that? That's a huge problem. I always thought deadwood could attract bugs, but having them reach the house is next level. In my case, I leave branches in the far corner of the yard, and it's been okay. Take this with a grain of salt, but maybe distance from the house is key. It's good to keep some deadwood for animals, but not at the cost of your home's safety. I guess it's about being smart with location.

Warning: I noticed my team always went quiet after sales calls

Was it really that much of a train wreck, or are we just hyping up normal bad meetings? Sometimes a manager just repeats an idea, or someone rambles for too long. That's just Tuesday. I've seen way worse, like actual yelling or a project getting totally scrapped. This sounds like pretty standard stuff to just move on from.

A veggie prep step I always brushed off actually works

Feel your pain on that one, @angela587. I left broccoli in too long once and it tasted like wet paper. Now I set a timer for 20 seconds max for things like carrots or snap peas. It makes a huge difference in keeping that crisp bite. What other veggies have you tried this with?

Unpopular opinion: Canned soup isn't the budget hero we think it is

Totally get the salt thing. In my case, it was those instant ramen packs that made me feel awful. Swapping for quick veggie stir-fries helped a lot.
