My backyard astrophotography is fighting a losing battle with porch lights.

Hey @charlesk88, I dealt with something like this when new LED streetlights went in... they were way too bright for sleeping. At first, I thought about getting everyone to complain to the city, but that seemed like a hassle. Instead, I just bought blackout curtains for my place and told my immediate neighbors about them. A bunch of them ended up getting their own after seeing how well mine worked... it spread kind of naturally. Organizing a blackout might be fun for community building, but curtains solve the problem without any drama. In my case, the curtains were a sure thing while planning an event could have fallen through.

Heard the same weird phrase from three places in a row

Spot something once and your brain just highlights it everywhere, like @quinna89's wiring thing. Makes the world feel trippy even when you know the reason.

Showerthought: A real chat at the BBQ didn't drain me this time

Heard a therapist on a podcast say that pretending to be someone else is exhausting (like acting in a play all night). Authentic conversations, even about small things like tomatoes, don't wear you out. It's cool you're getting to that place where you can just be yourself.
