Realize we often ignore easy upgrades that make daily life better. Like @susanb34 mentioned with noise, a rug fixes multiple small pains at once. Why do we put off such simple changes for so long?

See this same thing happen with other stuff all the time, like a quick fix on a leaky faucet. The proper repair feels like a pain, but you only do it once.

Complain all you want about hand sanding, but it beats explaining scratched table legs to clients. Power tools just can't handle curves without leaving marks. So grab some sandpaper and get used to the slow work.
