inShowerthought: My fast rasp habit made hoof edges rough
Whoa, gotta hard disagree on that one. Clients might not SAY the word "smoothness," but they absolutely feel it. A rough edge catches on their clothes or their own skin, and then they think the job was bad. It's like that old haircut story, a snag is a snag and they notice. That final smooth finish is what makes it feel professional and done right.

inStumped on whether to charge full rate for a simple focus fix on a wedding day camera
Take care work, for example. We pay less for jobs that help everyone. It seems we only care about quick profits. From what I've seen, this hurts us all in the end. Your mileage may vary, but we should value what truly matters.

inMy art hobby got real after I embraced existentialism
Did the_ivan's buddy really need to quit the band completely? Sometimes you can just drop the act and play for yourself instead. You don't always have to leave, you just have to change why you're there.

inAfter a rough week, this podcast on work boundaries saved me.
Setting my work phone to silent after 6 pm was a game changer. I stopped answering emails at night, even the "urgent" ones that really weren't. My boss got the message after a week of radio silence past my hours. The sky didn't fall, and I got my evenings back. It feels weird at first, but it makes a huge difference.

inRemember when build guides were your only blueprint?
That Gamers Nexus video Iris mentioned really showed how bad some clearance claims are. They proved some cases had like half an inch less room than the manual said once you accounted for the front panel cables. It happens because someone writes a guide based on the listed spec sheet, not by actually building in the thing with a ruler. You end up trusting that info and then your build turns into a puzzle you didn't sign up for. That kind of mistake is why I basically ignore written guides now and only look for video builds with the exact case and card. Once you get burned by bad info, you never just take a number at face value again.
