Our book club spent 3 meetings arguing over the ending of 'The Road'

Honestly those deep dives into tiny details are the whole point for me. Getting stuck on the dog for weeks sounds like a sign the group actually cared, maybe too much. Karen leaving with the cookies is a tragedy, but the real loss is dropping the argument before it's done. Sometimes you need that month to cool off just so you can come back and fight about the next book properly.

I heard a baker on a podcast say they never use a timer for bread

Read an article where a pro baker said their "by feel" method actually relies on a super controlled kitchen environment. They have special HVAC systems to keep the temp and humidity perfect all year. Makes sense now, it's not some magic touch, it's just having a room that isn't a literal cave. My place has drafts that could sail a ship, so a timer is absolutely non-negotiable. That sourdough cinder block description is painfully accurate for my first few tries.

Used to skip pre-inspection reports, but a bad closing changed my mind.

So you had that happen too @ruby_jones? I skipped an inspection on a condo once because it looked perfect. Two months in, we found a leak that had been dripping inside a wall for years. The whole corner was soft and moldy. Had to replace a big part of the floor and frame, cost thousands. I mean, never again, it just seems crazy to not pay for someone to look it over first.

Hot take: My kombucha turned into vinegar overnight!

Turn it sour fast" seems a little dramatic. Is it really that bad, or just not ideal after a couple days?

My quiet morning coffee became my truth time.

Man, that sounds so freeing.
