inWarning: Yelling at my dog for barking just made him think it was a game
Ever try ignoring the bark completely? Yelling just makes it worse. I used to shout at my dog too. He thought it was playtime. Now I walk away or busy myself. When he stops, even for a breath, I reward him. Works way better than any noise I could make.

inPSA: My reused stone border is now a critter condo
It's wild how many small eco choices turn into nature management projects. Like @blair_gonzalez80 finding that nest, my compost bin once attracted every raccoon on the block. We try to do one good thing, like stacking old bricks, and suddenly we're running a bug hotel. It's like the planet sees a tiny opening and sends in the welcoming committee, turning our simple reuse into a full time side gig we never signed up for.

inSeeing a washer shake apart a floor from skipping the level step
Isn't it crazy how skipping one simple step causes so much avoidable damage? Reading what @wendyb59 said about that concrete floor in Tempe really drives it home. I've walked into jobs where the shaking has not only ruined floors but also rattled drain lines loose. It always ends up costing way more time and money to fix than just leveling the thing right in the first place.

inBeware of bosses who cut short pressure tests for faster turnover.
Seriously, that reminds me of a contractor who skipped inspections.

inUpdate: Defying the 'wait for spring' rule for my orchids
That "wait for spring" rule is mostly for outdoor perennials. For orchids, the best time to repot is usually right after they finish blooming, whenever that happens for you.
