Serious question, did you ever realize you were the one derailing the book talk?

My old roommate used to do this with movies, always turning film night into a lecture about camera angles. We started hiding the remote so he couldn't pause it to make his points. Sometimes you just need to let the thing play out without your commentary track.

Am I the only one who used to write everything in one giant file?

Oh man that naming convention is too real. I still find files like "test_new_idea_FINAL_revised.py" from six months ago that I'm scared to open. The worst is when you leave a comment for yourself that just says "what was I even trying to do here?" and future you has no clue either. Breaking it into modules is the only thing that saves you from your own past chaos.

I've been fixing washers for 15 years and everyone swears by the multimeter first, but a good pressure tester has saved me more time on 80% of my no-fill calls.

Yeah, my pressure tester is my go-to for that too.

Our new office in the Domain got hit with a power surge that fried half our dev workstations

Tell me about it. Watched my old router basically have a seizure during a storm last year. The lights did that weird dimming thing and it just gave up. Learned that day a surge strip is just a fancy extension cord with an attitude. Now my important stuff hums along on battery backup like it's no big deal. Best peace of mind purchase ever.
