How many batches of straight up charcoal did I make before I got it? I mean my first try set off the smoke alarm, no joke. I had to open all the windows. Another time they came out as these sad, black little bits that just tasted like ash. I kept doing the same high heat for a few minutes thing and wondering why it never worked. Finally trying lower and slower was a total game changer for me too.

Ugh, the piano thing hits home. I basically treated practice time as my own personal rebellion and now my fingers just refuse to cooperate. @the_seth has a point about not every hobby needing to stick, but my regret is real when I see someone just casually play something cool. My skill level is forever stuck at the first half of 'Fur Elise,' and it's a special kind of embarrassment. I guess the joke's on me for thinking I could just pick it back up anytime.

Sometimes we build up these career choices into life-or-death moments. From what I've seen, most jobs aren't as stable as they look, and many new businesses don't last. Your mileage may vary, but taking a risk can teach you things a safe role never would. Then again, calling it a 'leap' might be overstating it; lots of people start small without burning bridges. Take this with a grain of salt, but both paths can work out fine depending on the person. The real change might just be in how you see your work, not the title on the door.
