Just realized skipping the primer on my kitchen cabinets was a huge mistake
I was in a hurry and didn't use primer, so the paint started peeling within weeks lol. Now I know that prep work is key for any paint job, no matter how simple it seems.

That whole "save time now" move always costs way more later. Seen it happen with cabinets, trim, even walls where someone thought one coat of cheap paint would do it. The regret really hits when you're redoing the entire job from scratch, spending hours scraping off what you just put on. It never pays to cut corners with paint.

It reminds me of when a friend tried to patch a small roof leak with just some tar and a prayer. The leak came back worse during the next big storm, ruining his ceiling. He had to call in professionals to fix both the roof and the water damage inside. That quick fix ended up costing him way more than doing it right the first time. It's the same idea of skipping steps coming back to haunt you.

Learned that lesson after my quick paint job turned into a weekend-long scrape fest, ever been there?

Ah yes, the classic "quick paint job" turning into a homeowner rite of passage, as the_patricia knows too well.
