Finally switched from planned scripts to just talking off the cuff
I spent 6 months scripting every word of my vlogs and they felt stiff and boring. Watched a creator from Austin who said he just rambles into the camera and edits later, so I tried it on my last 3 videos. My watch time actually went up by 30% - has anyone else had better luck with unscripted stuff?

Ditched my script about a year ago and never looked back. Honestly, the raw ramble just feels way more natural to watch. Viewers can tell when you're reading off a page, it kills the connection. Good on you for making the switch, that watch time jump proves it works.

@murphy.mason’s right - my first ramble was a disaster but folks actually watched it.

Oh wait, that's not quite right. Victor didn't switch to rambling yet, he was talking about his first ramble still having an actual audience even though it was messy. Murphy gave him credit for making the switch when he hasn't actually done it. Victor's still using a script, just saying people watched his first go at rambling without one. Little mix-up on Murphy's part.
