Noticing a lot of guys skip the deburring step on cut copper.
Had a fitting fail from a tiny ridge. A quick file pass fixes it for good.

Heard a plumber say copper burrs can actually slice through an O-ring over time. Makes that quick file pass sound even more important, right?

Saw a slow leak once from the same thing, just a little copper burr catching the o-ring. Took me forever to find it because the leak was so small. Felt like a total idiot since a two-second deburr would have saved me an hour of troubleshooting. Now I check every single cut, even the clean-looking ones. It's just basic workmanship.

That tiny ridge causing a fitting fail is no joke. I can't believe anyone would skip deburring. Last month, a burr on a cut line made a joint leak under test pressure. It cost me an afternoon to fix. A quick file pass is the easiest insurance you can get. Just do it right the first time.
