Real time would be a mess with all the false starts (and my weird muttering). The better move is to capture the raw footage and log the timecodes for the good bits later. It saves a ton of editing headache down the line. You just scrub through and mark the usable sections when you're back at your desk.

Remember flipping tapes and timing sides. Recording off the radio and holding your breath for the DJ to shut up. A playlist is just a list. A mixtape was a whole project you felt in your hands. That effort made it a gift, not just a link.
