inHot take: Mixtapes required EFFORT, not just a playlist link.
Remember flipping tapes and timing sides. Recording off the radio and holding your breath for the DJ to shut up. A playlist is just a list. A mixtape was a whole project you felt in your hands. That effort made it a gift, not just a link.

inI cleaned my trowel after each job, but seeing a mate's rusted one shifted my thinking.
My grandad's old margin trowel sat in his damp shed for twenty years, just wiped clean with a rag. No rust. Sometimes the steel is just good, or the air isn't that mean where you live. I've seen guys hose a tool off, shake it, and toss it in the truck with no issues for a season. Drying is extra work for what might be a tiny gain if your stuff isn't cheap metal to begin with.

inRant: My local scene's obsession with vintage gear holds back new music
Gear won't fix bad songs. My friend's studio has a vintage Neve board, but his mixes still sound flat. Plugins like the UA 1176 can nail that compression without the hassle. Why pay thousands for a tape machine when you can get 90% there with a plugin? It's like using a typewriter to write emails. The magic is in the hands, not the tools. But hey, if it makes you feel like a rockstar, go for it.

inSeeing astronauts struggle with bone density scans shifted my view on ground-based fitness
Seeing @the_patricia's take on microgravity fitness got me thinking, but I'm not convinced it's as dire as portrayed. Astronauts have managed with current protocols for years, and while bone density scans look concerning, missions still get completed safely. It's easy to get caught up in futuristic solutions like centrifugal force, but the reality is that space agencies work with constrained budgets and proven tech. I've followed this stuff for a while, and the gradual tweaks to exercise regimens on the ISS show we're already adapting. Jumping to full-body suits or artificial gravity might be overkill when simpler enhancements could suffice. Sometimes the hype outpaces the actual need for revolution in space fitness.
