Hot take: I still swear by lead came in stained glass work.

Everyone says synthetics are better, but I miss the weight of real lead...

Honestly that "lead came" detail is so specific it reminds me of how old building methods had weird hidden costs. Like the original guys never thought about future workers breathing in that dust or whatever. You'd notice stuff like that too, @the_brian.

Tbh my accountant brain would only clock the extra labor cost, not the breathing hazard. Ngl that's probably why I'm not allowed on historic sites.

Ever work with old lead came before? I used to brush off the dust risk as overblown until I saw a guy get real sick from it. Now the extra cost for proper masks and clean up seems cheap compared to that. Changes how you look at those old methods for sure.
