Appreciation post: Basalt columns on a trail flipped my view on volcanic rocks

I always thought igneous geology was just dull, gray stuff. Seeing those perfect hexagons in person showed me how neat lava flows can be. Any good spots to check out more formations like this?

Well, I find most volcanic rock is still pretty plain to be honest.
