The time my gadget review made a real difference

I wrote a long review for a kitchen scale I use all the time. My neighbor saw it online and bought the same model, which solved her baking issues. What's a moment your review work paid off?

Yeah but how often does that really happen. Feels like @janabell has the right idea, most reviews just get lost in the algorithm. It's not exactly saving lives.

I used to think reviews got lost too. Janabell's neighbor finding one shows they can actually help.

Ever notice how the smallest online stuff can circle back to real life? Kind of makes @janabell's point that maybe our words do stick around somewhere.

Wait, your neighbor actually found your review online? That's wild (like, what are the odds). I've written tons of reviews and just assumed they vanished into the void. It must feel pretty cool to see your words turn into a real, working solution for someone you know.
