Heads up: My smart speaker setup turned chaotic because of a missing review detail...
I set up a new voice assistant hub based on tons of positive write-ups... Everything seemed smooth until it started picking up commands from my neighbor's TV through the wall... Now my lights turn on and off at random, which is honestly creepy... None of the reviews I read mentioned how sensitive the mic could be in apartment buildings... I'm dealing with a gadget that feels like it's haunted more than helpful... This whole thing has me skeptical of reviews that skip over real-world quirks... Maybe ask around locally before you trust a glowing online take.

Wow, I used to ignore warnings about mic sensitivity in reviews. After my own speaker started following the neighbor's TV dialogue, I get it. Guess I've learned to let that be a lesson.

Privacy slips with smart devices are everywhere now. @charles_mitchell's speaker story shows how mics can be too sensitive, but bulbs listening too? That's wild. We buy this stuff for help, but it ends up causing more worry. It's like we're trading a bit of our private lives for each new gadget. Not sure if that's a good deal anymore.

My old apartment had thin walls and my smart plug kept turning on at 3 AM from a late night talk show next door. @jamesr34 is right about the trade-off, it feels like these devices need a setting for "apartment life" that reviewers never talk about. You end up with a ghost in your walls instead of a helpful assistant.
