Looking back at my old business plan from 2021 is kinda wild

I was cleaning out my office last week and found the first draft from three years ago. Back then, my whole 'marketing strategy' was just a line about 'maybe using Facebook'. I didn't even know what a CRM was, let alone have a budget for one. Now I'm running my landscaping company on a combo of Google Sheets and a simple scheduling app that costs $29 a month. It's funny how the basics you think you need at the start are totally different from what actually works. Anyone else dig up an old plan and cringe at the assumptions?

Isn't it funny how we overcomplicate things at the start? My first plan had a whole section on branding before I even had a single customer. You really do learn what matters by just doing the work.

Hold up, gotta disagree lol. Skipping the planning is how you waste a ton of time fixing basic stuff later. That branding section sounds smart, not overcomplicate. You need to know what you're about before you talk to customers, or you just look all over the place. Doing the work without a map just means you walk in circles for a while.

A whole section on branding before one customer? That's wild.
