PSA: I blew $800 on a fancy camera for a travel blog I never started

Back in 2019, I was convinced I'd become a travel blogger and bought a top-end mirrorless camera. It sat in its case while life got busy, and I sold it last year for half what I paid. Looking back, I should have just used my phone to see if I even liked making content first. Anyone else have a big purchase for a dream that just fizzled out?

Ever think you need the best gear to start something? I used to believe that until I bought a whole sewing machine for a hobby that lasted a month. Now I just borrow stuff to try things out first.

Remember my buddy who got super into home brewing? He dropped like five hundred bucks on a fancy kit, carboys, the whole deal. The first batch tasted like weird bread and he hated the cleaning process. All that gear is just sitting in his basement now, still in boxes. Makes me cringe every time I see it.

Man, this is everywhere now. People feel like they need the perfect setup before they even know if they like the thing. It's like buying a full gym for a New Year's resolution you quit in February. Borrowing first is the smart move, saves so much money and clutter.
