PSA: A bride in Chicago told me my bouquets were too heavy to hold
She said after an hour of photos, her arms were tired and it messed with her posture. I started using lighter foam bases and swapped some heavy hydrangeas for ranunculus in my designs. Has anyone else gotten feedback about bouquet weight and found a good fix?

My sister's wedding in Phoenix had the same problem, her bouquet felt like a brick after the ceremony. I agree with ellis.faith about wire handles being lighter, we ended up using floral tape over thin aluminum wire for hers and it made a huge difference. The trick is to wrap it tight so the stems don't shift around.

Actually, foam bases can be surprisingly heavy when soaked. A wire or taped stem handle is way lighter and easier to grip for a long time.

My cousin builds parade floats and he always uses PVC pipe wrapped in grip tape for handles. He said they tried foam once and it doubled in weight after a light rain. The wire idea is smart for keeping things light. What kind of tape holds up best without getting sticky?

Tried a silicone grip wrap on mine instead of tape. Works way better in my opinion. No sticky residue to deal with later and it stays put even when your hands get sweaty from holding it all day. Plus you can take it off and reuse it for the next arrangement. Just a thought for anyone tired of fighting with floral tape that gets gummy after awhile.
