Hot take: I thought my local credit union's free budget class was just a sales pitch until I went last month and saved $200 on my car insurance.
The advisor showed me a discount I qualified for by bundling that I'd missed for 3 years, so what's something you thought was a gimmick that actually paid off?

@henryp40 same thing happened to me with those receipt apps... found a rebate on paper towels I always buy and felt so dumb.

My buddy laughed at those cash back credit cards for ages. He finally got one for gas and ended up with like $80 back in a few months without changing his habits.

Remember those "get cash back on your receipts" apps? I swore they were just farming my data for pennies. Downloaded one as a joke, scanned a grocery receipt from a store I always go to, and got a $15 rebate on chicken I was already buying. Felt like a clown for ignoring free money.
