Hit my first $1k month freelancing after 2 years of grinding from my basement in Chicago

Last week I finally broke $1,000 in a single month doing freelance graphic design. Took me since 2021 to get there. Started with $50 logo jobs on Upwork and felt like a joke. Now I got 3 retainer clients who pay on time. Kinda wild to look back at my spreadsheet from last January where I made $87 total. Anyone else remember that feeling when you first saw the number go up?

Wait $87 for a whole month?? Holy crap. That makes the $1k feel like a million bucks honestly.

My buddy Jake told me he once lived off $50 a month for food in college just buying rice, beans, and bulk frozen veggies. He lost 10 pounds but said he never felt more alive, weirdly. That $87 gig would have been a total game changer for him back then. Did you have a lean month like that too?

Powdered milk and oats got me through a rough winter, weirdly filling stuff.

Ramen packets and peanut butter got me through my broke phase. A spoonful of that stuff kills the hunger longer than you'd expect.
