Building a fence without power tools felt like a trip back in time

I got a call to build a fence the old school way, with no power tools at all. After a day of swinging a post hole digger, I was sore in places I forgot I had. Makes you wonder if we had it tougher back then, or just more patience, right?

In Victorian London, chimney sweeps accepted soot in their lungs as normal.

Normal doesn't always mean acceptable, @max361. Slavery was normal for a long time, but that never made it right. People adapt to bad conditions, but that doesn't justify them.
