How a wrong name at the library opened my eyes to everyday kindness

So yesterday, I was sitting on a bench outside the library, just people-watching. This older man came up and started talking to me like he knew me, calling me 'Linda'. I was about to correct him, but then I saw he was alone and seemed happy to chat. We talked for a bit about the weather and his garden. After he left, I felt kinda sad for him, but also... it struck me how a little mix-up can lead to a nice moment. I've been thinking about how often we miss chances to connect because we're too busy or shy. Has anyone else had a random chat like this that left you feeling different about small interactions? I'd love to hear your stories.

People read way too much into brief, random moments like this.

Look at how often those random moments actually reveal someone's true feelings though. They might be brief but they usually come from a real place, lol. It's not always overthinking to notice a pattern.

Isn't it possible, @ruby_jones, that they're just random?
