Can we talk about the ethics of facial recognition in London?

I saw a report that London's Met Police used live facial recognition at over 50 locations last year, up from just a handful five years ago. On one side, they claim it helps find missing people and prevent crime. On the other, groups like Liberty say it's a huge invasion of privacy and leads to unfair targeting. Where do you stand on this tech being rolled out in public spaces?

Wyatt saying his face is forgettable is too real. My driver's license photo looks like a blurry potato, so maybe I'm already safe from the cameras. Honestly though, if the system glitches and mistakes me for a missing person because of bad lighting, that's a hassle I don't need. Getting stopped because a computer got confused sounds like a terrible way to start your day.

Invasion of privacy" is real, but my face is so forgettable even the cameras probably get bored.

Wait, your face makes surveillance tech bored? That's a whole new level of self burn. The cameras are out here getting tired of looking at you? That's actually kind of amazing and sad at the same time. You've unlocked a new fear of being too boring for the machines watching us.
