Saying no to a chemical peel request made my day harder but better

A new client wanted a strong chemical peel right before her wedding. I told her it was a bad idea and could ruin her big day. She argued with me for twenty minutes before finally listening. Now she's thanking me for saving her skin from a disaster. Sticking to your guns on safety is what this job is really about.

Honestly, sticking to your guns on safety is so important. My friend had a client beg for a microdermabrasion right before a big job interview. She said no and the client was upset, but it saved them from a red, peeling face on camera.

Standing firm on safety is crucial, as you showed. @wesley527, microdermabrasion is usually not as strong as a chemical peel. It often doesn't cause peeling, just some redness that goes away fast. For many people, it can be done a few days before an event without problems. Still, it's always best to check each client's skin carefully. The key is knowing the risks and timing for each treatment.
