Pro tip: never try to fix a leaky faucet while your cat is 'helping'

I was under the sink in my apartment, trying to tighten a connection with a cheap wrench from a hardware store. My cat, Mochi, decided the dangling pipe was a toy and swatted it, causing a spray of water right into my face. In my panic, I grabbed a nearby mixing bowl to catch the water, which worked but looked completely ridiculous. Has anyone else had a simple repair turn into a slapstick routine because of a pet?

Olivia_moore's fuzzy assistant sounds like a disaster waiting to happen, just ask janah83.

Totally feel that. My dog once stole the washer I needed while I was fixing the toilet. Ended up chasing him around with a wrench.

Honestly, I think pets make the job easier. That spray of water from the pipe was probably just Mochi trying to clean your face for you, a real helper. My dog brings me tools all the time, even if I don't need them yet. It's like having a fuzzy little assistant who keeps things interesting. Trying to fix stuff in total silence would be boring anyway.

My neighbor's parrot yelled "water's on" during their plumbing disaster.
