A client said my moving estimate process felt like an interrogation

They told me 'you ask for 20 details before you'll even give me a ballpark number, it feels like I'm being grilled.' I switched to a quick 5-question call first to build trust. Has anyone else had a client's blunt feedback change a core business step?

How many times have you had to simplify a process after feedback like that?

Simplify a process after feedback" is the whole story of my last project. We had this five step approval thing that took a week. After the team said it was a blocker, we cut it down to two steps that happen in a day. It's always about removing steps, not adding them.

Man, that's a great fix, and it totally makes sense to build trust first.
