Spent 6 hours trying to dial in a door zone sensor on a 1994 Otis

Kept getting false signals and couldn't figure out why the door wouldn't close clean. Turns out the previous guy had wired the sensor backwards from the original print. Anyone else run into phantom wiring gremlins that eat up half your day?

Man, that's the kind of thing that makes you want to just walk away for an hour. Nothing worse than chasing a problem that only exists because someone before you messed it up.

Honestly yeah, that's the absolute worst. You spend forever trying to fix something and then find out it was just someone else's mistake the whole time. Makes you wonder why people don't just own up to stuff in the first place.

Spent 6 hours trying to dial in a door zone sensor" - man, I felt that in my soul. I once spent a whole afternoon chasing a short in a panel that turned out to be a paperclip someone used to replace a fuse. At least you caught it before the door pancaked someone, which is more than I can say for the time I spent three hours debugging a thermostat that was just set to "off.
