My kid's friend said his Xbox just 'got fixed' when he left it unplugged
Heard a 12 year old tell my son his Series S stopped turning on, so he left it off the wall for two days. Plugged it back in and it worked. Made me think about all the times I've seen a full power cycle clear weird faults in modern gear. How many 'broken' things just need the caps to drain fully? Ever run into a device that needed a specific long reset time, like more than 30 seconds?

Actually read an article once about how some electronics have these tiny backup batteries or capacitors that keep settings alive. If you don't let them drain ALL the way, the glitch just sits there in memory. My old cable box was like that, needed a solid ten minutes unplugged or it would keep freezing on the same channel. Makes you wonder how much E-waste is just stuff that needs a real, proper reset.

Totally believe it! Saw that with an old game console of mine, had to leave it unplugged overnight. @jackson.faith's story about the router needing a full day is wild but makes sense. It's crazy how much stuff gets thrown out when it just needs that long, deep reset.
