Had a great week fixing old game consoles in Seattle
Last Tuesday someone dropped off a Sega Genesis that wouldn't power on. Turned out to be a blown capacitor near the voltage regulator. Fixed it in 20 minutes and the customer was so happy they brought in three more consoles the next day. Then on Friday I got a Game Boy Color with a dead screen and managed to swap in a new IPS kit without messing up the ribbon cable. Has anyone else had a run of easy repairs like that?

Yeah there's something satisfying about when simple fixes line up like that.

Haven't we all had that moment where you fix one tiny thing and it changes everything? I remember my old laptop had this weird buzzing noise for months. Turned out it was just a loose screw holding the fan in place. Tightened it with a butter knife and it was silent. Felt like a genius for a whole afternoon. Bet the washing machine guy knows that feeling too.

Oh man, tbh I just read something about how those simple fixes actually have a name - something like a 'root cause solution' or whatever. It's wild how often we overlook the obvious stuff. Like last week I saw a guy on YouTube fix a broken washing machine just by tightening one screw, and I was like, why can't my problems be that easy? But yeah @jade_jenkins, you're spot on, that little hit of satisfaction when everything clicks into place is hard to beat.
