Unpopular opinion: My podcast editing hobby points out how bad Edmonton law firm radio spots sound.

After tweaking audio for fun, hearing those ads feels like a slap in the face.

Actually a ton of local radio spots sound like they were recorded in a closet. Those law firm ones just stand out because you hear them all the time! Once you know what good audio sounds like, the bad stuff is impossible to ignore.

When you say "once you know what good audio sounds like," that really hits home. What was the moment you first picked up on how bad some of these spots are? Do you think stations just don't care because the ads keep getting played anyway? It's wild how something so simple can be messed up so often. Is it a budget thing or just laziness?

You know that moment when you hear your own voice on a recording and cringe? I once tried to record a voice message for a friend on my laptop and it sounded like I was in a tin can. Makes you wonder if some of these ads are just the lawyer talking into their phone with a blanket over their head. I upgraded to a real closet setup, but my blanket fort was way cheaper. Once you've heard good sound, even your own bad attempts ruin everything.
