My old bandmate in Seattle said something that killed our album idea
We were in his garage studio, listening to a rough mix of a song we'd worked on for weeks. He just turned the volume down and said, 'This sounds like a demo for a band that already exists.' That was it, we never finished the project. Anyone else have a dream that just got shut down by one comment?

That "demo for a band that already exists" line is brutal. It's the kind of perfect, specific insult that sticks with you forever. Guess it's easier to just start a cover band.

My buddy spent a year writing a novel, only for his wife to read the first page and ask if it was a parody. He deleted the whole file that night.
