I found my old sketchbook from high school and it's just sad now.
I was cleaning out my parents' garage in Phoenix last weekend and found a whole box of drawings from when I was 17. I was going to go to art school, but I took a 'practical' business degree instead. Anyone else look at their old passion and just feel a weird kind of nothing?

Actually, I think that feeling is something. It's not nothing. It's a specific kind of sad, like looking at a map for a trip you never took. I get the same thing with my old guitar.

Exactly, it's the sadness of a path not taken. My high school running shoes still have that same energy, tucked away in a box. They whisper about a different version of me.
