Found out I spent $4,200 on guitar lessons for a hobby I quit 8 years ago
I was going through old bank statements last night trying to find a receipt and stumbled on a payment to a music school in Portland. Added it up out of curiosity and realized I had taken 14 months of weekly lessons before I dropped it completely. Did anyone else ever do the math on a dream they walked away from and get surprised by the total cost?

Oh man, that one stings a bit! I once tallied up what I'd spent on a pottery wheel and a year of classes after I realized my "mugs" were just lumpy cylinders that held coffee sideways. It came out to around $1,800 and I sold the wheel for $200 on Craigslist. At least you got some music theory out of it, even if you don't remember a lick of it now.

$4,200 is basically the tuition for a PhD in Self-Awareness though. I spent $600 on a used trumpet once and my neighbor still leaves passive-aggressive notes about my "aggressive interpretation of jazz." At least you got a functional piece of furniture out of it, my $600 just sits in the closet mocking me every time I open it.
