I finally had a dream where my car only ran if I was holding a banana

Last night I dreamed my old Honda Civic needed me to hold a banana in my left hand to keep the engine running, which felt totally normal until I hit a highway on-ramp. The dream logic was so convincing that I actually tried to peel a banana while merging, and when I dropped it the car died right there on the shoulder. Has anyone else had a dream where some completely random object became the key to making something work?

The banana as a car key is just your brain being lazy with symbolism. Cars mean you gotta go somewhere and bananas give you quick energy to get there. Your subconscious grabbed the first object that made sense on a basic level. Ruby's point about potassium is probably on the right track, your body might have been running low and your dream brain turned that into a literal need. Dreams are pretty garbage at being subtle.

Wait, is it possible your brain was trying to tell you something about needing more potassium or fuel for energy in real life? I mean, I know that sounds crazy but our brains do weird stuff with symbols. Maybe the banana stands for something you feel like you need to hold onto to keep going, like a routine or a comfort thing. idk, it's kind of fascinating how our subconscious picks the most random objects to represent important stuff.

Actually been there with the banana dreams. Ended up keeping a little notepad by my bed for a month tracking what I ate before sleep. Found out eating too close to bedtime gave me these super vivid dreams about food. Simple fix was just moving dinner earlier. Also started keeping a banana in my gym bag just in case my body was literally low on potassium. Can't hurt to try either of those things honestly. Our brains do send weird signals but sometimes it really is just about needing a snack or adjusting a habit.
