Why does nobody talk about how hard it is to scale drawings on gridded paper?
I tried using a 1/4 inch grid for a site plan last week and kept messing up the scale by reading the wrong lines... learned my lesson to mark my grid points with a red pen before I start. Has anyone else found a trick to keep the scale straight?

Oh yeah, "mark my grid points with a red pen" - that's smart. I once tried to scale a map for a hiking thing and I spent like an hour before I realized I was counting every other line. I just gave up and eyeballed it, which is probably why we got lost.
