Got scammed at a Bali coworking space and it changed my whole setup

I was at this spot in Ubud last month called something like 'The Hive' and paid $15 for a day pass. WiFi kept dropping every 20 minutes and the power went out twice. Turns out the place was just a refurbished house with no real infrastructure. Now I always check WiFi speeds on Speedtest before paying and ask about backup generators. Has anyone else run into fake coworking spaces in SEA that look legit but are trash?

$15 seems cheap for all that drama, did you really expect much more?

That sucks, man. Dropped connections and no backup power is the worst combo when you're trying to get work done.

Exactly, the lack of backup power makes dropped connections so much worse (like a double whammy of frustration). @hall.joel probably has a point about $15 not buying much, but it's still a hassle when you're in the middle of something important. Even cheap gear should at least keep a steady connection, you know?
