I finally stopped using the default round brush for everything

For years, I just used the basic round brush in Procreate for all my line art and coloring. About three months ago, I watched a tutorial from an artist in Seattle who used custom textured brushes for her backgrounds. I tried making my own brush with a grainier texture, and it completely changed how my digital paintings feel. Now my forest scenes actually look like they have bark and leaves instead of just smooth color blocks. Has anyone else made the switch to custom brushes and found one texture that just works for you?

I used to think custom brushes were a waste of time, but a good paper texture changed my whole workflow.

Yeah, it's like when you get a new pencil and your handwriting changes for a day. Makes you look at the page differently. You're right, @mason_lopez, it's all about shaking up the routine.
